First it was extreme sports, then extreme ironing and now extreme knitting! No, it's not people dangling themselves off cliffs to knit one, pearl one, its self confessed ‘extreme knitter' American Teresa Honeywell using old fashioned mumsy knitting to create giant tea cosies for less, erm, traditional objects! Our fave? The pink knitted motorcycle cover (what man wouldn't want that for Xmas?!). Her new passion was kick - started by spying a knitted toilet roll cover and picturing a sad lonely housewife with nothing better to do than produce something so bizarre and useless. Add to this the ‘stitch and bitch' knitting revolution in the UK, where you can meet up with other knit-freaks and have a good ol' natter, not to mention the current craze for super knits in fashion (see Louise Goldin, Mark Fast and Simone Shailes) and we reckon extreme knitting may well become our new top new pastime...[Jezebel]
Now knitting goes extreme!
