In what Rupert proclaims as a ‘moment of madness' he skipped from a promising career in advertising to learn how to make shoes at Cordwainers College in East London. And it appears to have paid off after winning the award for the Accessory designer of the year at last night's British Fashion Awards 2008. After enjoying time buzzing around on a motorbike in Italy visiting tanneries and shoe factories he then went on to design alongside Sergio Rossi and Bruno Magli. Since 2001 shoe afioncado Sanderson has been London based and designing sexy and classically understated shoes. Most recently we've had shoe envy from the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow who have been spotted out in his fash pack fave the ‘KitKat' - a double lipped shoeboot with a stiletto heel. With two stores in Mayfair and Knightsbridge, plus over 100 department and specialist stores all over the globe he is the go-to man for a perfect pair of heeled pumps.
