Louise Goldin wins Swarvoski's Emerging Talent Award

default

We couldn't have been happier when the British Fashion Awards kicked off with Louise Goldin winning the BFA's Swarvoski's Emerging Talent (Ready to wear) award last night. Having only just shown her third season, London girl Louise Goldin has very quickly captured the fashion industry's imagination and garnered a great deal of media interest. Through sexy body con knitwear, complicated sculptural pieces and intricate use of print and textures, Goldin, who is part of the British fashion Council's New Generation support scheme has reinvented the way we look at knitting! After graduating in 2005 from Central St Martin's she has gone from showing her collection as part of Fashion East to showcasing in the Topshop space and subsequently collaborating with Topshop too. Louise has been described as the ‘new Missoni' and a must-see for all London Fashion Week goers. She describes her work as 'innovative, futuristic and luxurious.' So it's no wonder that fashion forward ladies are snapping it up - Alexa Chung has been the latest to step out in an cyber intarsia knit jumper dress. Louise was so overwhelmed that she had to sit quietly backstage with a glass of champagne to compose herself before going back to dinner.
