Ooh la la! So that’s how Bruno made his Paris debut

default

Sacha Baron Cohen isn't your archetypal fashion week ‘superguest', but that's exactly how Jean Charles de Castelbajac described Sacha's fashion diva alter-ego Bruno when he crashed Jean Charles' Paris show. Having duped organisers into thinking Jude Law was about to turn up, the leather-clad and uber-camp ‘Bruno' and his production crew were then permitted to carry on with a hilarious catwalk performance. And though it was one of Bruno's better receptions, it certainly wasn't his first appearance at a Fashion Week - out on a mission to film Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Male (due out 15th May), he first stormed the runway of Agatha Ruiz De La Prada, then wreaked havoc backstage at Iceberg in Milan before arriving clapping and whooping in the second row of Stella McCartney's show in Paris. Bruno's presence has even been described as a ‘defining moment' by Women's Wear Daily. In fact, the quietly amused reaction by some of the fash pack hints at how Bruno and his entourage may have managed to get through notoriously tight show security. After all, he's not exactly a wallflower - so we're wondering if responses such as Stella McCartney's "I love his work in fashion," hint that some insiders might have known of Bruno's plans? Unfortunately, it seems not everyone was in on the joke and the fash-love ended at Givenchy's Paris after-party, when Bruno was turned away. Clearly worn out from weeks of being fabulous (and enduring many a security scuffle), Bruno turned tail, sashayed away and is rumoured to be hitting Moscow fashion week next... Watch this space...
