The Queen might be getting into fashion, but according to tonight's episode of British Style Genius - which explores the very English subject of country style - her grandsons are anything but. ‘Everything they wear is completely Sloane and has nothing to do with fashion. Nothing to do with fashion. Nothing to do with anything high concept,' Peter York, author of The Sloane Ranger (what else?) tells us in this clip from the out-takes of the show. ‘You wouldn't catch the little Princes knowing a great list of designers like poncy urban people.' Yikes! But what about Prince William's ‘style icon' girlfriend Kate Middleton? A better fashion assessment: ‘She very much wears the 21st century Sloane dress code in an almost Italian way because it never looks untidy. She always looks, as Americans say, very nicely presented.' Hilarious! Tune in tonight at 9pm to get a nostalgia trip of Laura Ashley florals, country tweeds and Princess Diana's shoulder-pads. Oooh, don't you just love the Beeb's Tuesday night fashion bonanza?!
