Fashion's first ladies spent HOW much?

 default

The Republican party may still be reeling from the fallout of Sarah Palin's £90,000 campaign wardrobe but all it's done is pique our interest in the first ladies even more! (Fashion fact: Palin's wardrobe is being auctioned off for charity after the election, but it's still the equivalent of 60 Chanel 2.55s!) So, to whet your appetite, calculators out! Here's a run-down of their campaign-winning closets: Carla Bruni's Dior wardrobe comes in at the most costly at £10,055 (ooh la la!). Self-proclaimed GAP addict Michelle Obama comes in second at £945 with a Moschino dress and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes. In the Brits corner, there's Samantha Cameron with her designer + high street combo (tallying £565); and Sarah 'Creditcrunchista' Brown (wife of an ex-chancellor lest you forget) who spends the least; a fashionsavvy £350 on her fabulous Jaeger dress. But the best bit about this week's Wardrobegate? The fashion campaign, sorry, we mean election campaign, is not over yet. On either coast... [The Times]
