Ever since the Chanel models strutted their up-ended 2.55 bags to Ladyhawke's Paris is Burning on the catwalk last month, we've been addicted to the song as a (very cost-effective) injection of fashion adrenaline. Then we heard from Karl's right hand woman Virginie Viard (pick up next week's Grazia magazine for the full interview) that Ladyhawke's been playing constantly in the Chanel studio. So we've been dying to bump into the music maestro herself to find out how the Chanel connection came about - and what she makes of it. ‘Yes, I heard Karl had one of my songs playing in his studio and obviously at the show. I was totally blown away,' ' she told Grazia at the Grey Goose Character And Cocktails Party in aid of the Elton John AIDS Foundation party last night. ‘I couldn't believe it as I'm not really into high end fashion like that. I love a lot of it but my style is made up of vintage, unique stuff. I don't spend that much money, I just put on what I feel like. To think of me in Chanel is like a joke.' So does that mean we won't be seeing her performing live or sitting front row next season? ‘Well Karl hasn't been in touch yet but if he did call me up I wouldn't know what to say. I reckon we'd get on though and would be so honoured to meet him as I reckon he seems like a really cool, eccentric dude and I love nothing more than that because I reckon one day I'll end up like a really cool, old, eccentric dude, too!' And let's face it being dressed in Chanel wouldn't be that much of a hardship either, would it? Never mind Chanel hearting Ladyhawke, Grazia hearts her more!
