Yep, you read that right. It's not often we mention the Queen (other than in the D&G inspired A/W trend way) but then it's not often she seems just like us. Until now. Team HRH have announced they're doing credit crunch couture style for her tour of Slovenia next month. Her in-house design team (oh how we wish we could sneak a peek inside there) are creating a new formal evening gown out of gold, silver and grey brocade fabric given to the Queen during a tour of the Middle East over 20 years ago for the state banquet. She's also planning to re-wear two other outfits throughout the trip. ‘The Queen has always been thrifty and she is well-known for her culture of saving energy around the palace,' the Palace said. ‘The Princess Royal is well-known for recycling outfits and the Duke of Edinburgh has been reported as wearing the same pair of trousers that he had made 51 years ago.' Respect to the Queen, but come on Duke: there's Credit Crunch and then there's just laziness. Get yerself down to M&S double quick!
