Katherine Hamnett hits the campaign trail

default

She was the original eco-fashion warrior with her slogan t-shirts like Choose Life and Save The World in the 80s, and earlier this year Grazia's first ‘Lives Not Knives' campaign tee. Well Katherine Hamnett's still at it, this time working alongside charity Odanadi to draw attention to the problem of illegal human trafficking in India and as we revealed on Monday [paste link here], she's chosen pal Bob Geldof's daughter Pixie as the celebrity face of the campaign. Pixie was noticeably absent from last night's official launch - she had too much homework! - but Katherine was on good form at an exhibition of photographs of women and children rescued from sexual slavery by Odanadi as she did the rounds of guests getting them to sign up in support of Odanadi's work. She told Grazia, 'I've had all these materialistic things and that decadent lifestyle and it never made me happy. I do just a bit of work like this and you have to scrape me off the ceiling!' Wearing a black cashmere jumper dress by Izzy Lane, she also waved the flag for ethical fashion. 'I love Izzy Lane. She rescues sheep and makes the most wonderful British cashmere.'

Go to London's Museum in The Docklands to check out the exhibition or go to http://www.odanadi-uk.org/ for information on how to donate and get your hands on these limited edition £20 tees.
