Who won the front row race?

09 October 2008

So yesterday, we told you the real top models from the fashion shows (not a reality TV winner in sight) and it got us thinking about who officially won the front row race? As avid Grazia devotees you'll already know there were a few permanent fixtures on this season's front rows - Daisy, Kelly O, Emma et al - but in the name of fashion we spent the last 24 hours researching who officially made the most appearances in each capital. (It's a tough job but somebody has to do it). Here are the results...

As fashion month kicked off in New York the competition was slim. Daisy (and her dog Monty) did well with 5 appearances, Kelly O turned up to support her Ag-Hag boyfriend Luke Worrall on the Rag & Bone catwalk and took in a few others on the side but the clear undisputable winner was.... Rachel Zoe. Yes, you heard that right. The stylist who launched a thousand ‘Zoebots' might have been off the fashion radar for a while (well, since her much-published spat with Nicole Richie) but this fashion week's she proved she was back in a big way (rate her looks below). Anything to do with the launch of her US reality TV show which also aired that week perhaps? Hmm...

So onto London town. We thought for the first couple of days Alexa Chung might pip it (also filming her fashion TV show, Frock Me) but then Roisin Murphy rocked up at every, yes literally every, event. Show, cocktails, opening of ... well just about anything... Roisin was there working some extreme style. Well it was London FW we suppose so anything goes.

Milan FROWs were slightly thin on the ground with fashion A-listers (Dolce & Gabbana the exception) to say the least. But there was one woman we could rely on. Yep - you guessed it, none other than Roisin Murphy. She's the Milan winner too? Oh yes. Even though she did develop a scary habit of wearing the designer in questions outfits head-to-toe.

Last but definitely not least in the style stakes: Paris. Home of chic, haute-couture fashion, we can't help but have a little bit of a smug smile that out of all the contenders - we're talking Dita von Teese, Carine Roitfeld and her daughter Julia - our little Brit Emma Watson won the front row race. Bless. She's a fashion icon in the making.
