Karl Largerfeld's Paris prank...

It seems it's not just us mere mortals who can't keep up with the ever-increasing, oddly named designer labels appearing at Fashion Week. The inside goss from Paris is that pranksters Karl Lagerfeld and sidekick Stephen Gan were so fed up with hearing all the unfamiliar names that they decided to make up their own...
And so ‘Poupou Lapin' was born - and even had its own cheaper diffusion line, ‘Poupou Lapin-au-chocolat'! Naughty Monsieur Lagerfeld was soon spreading the word about the new label's design brief (a fur bikini, of course!) and touting it as ‘the one to watch'.
Apparently, so fooled were some key fashion insiders that ‘a certain editor famed for being at the leading edge of every trend' stamped her foot and replied <http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/05/fashion/shows/05diary.html>, ‘Damn! I just threw that invitation out!' Oops!
