Credit crunch fashion for the potential first ladies

02 October 2008

You can tell there's something in the air. No, not because of the headlines screaming of economic depression. Well that too. But more because the potential first ladies are proving to the world they wear high street! Last week Michelle Obama stepped out wearing - shock horror - an H&M dress, part of a deliberate strategy to keep her campaign wardrobe down-to-earth. Now it looks like Samantha Cameron might be following suit. Hell, even going one step further by showing she's not afraid to re-wear her £69 ruffled Reiss blouse on at least two occasions. Oh and team her 3.1 Phillip Lim party conference dress (but more of that later) with accessories from the high street: LK Bennett shoes and a Jigsaw necklace. Chiconomics! [NY Mag]
