Stuart Vevers on the seven words that sum up Loewe

It's hard to believe that Stuart Vevers has been at Loewe since only January. He left Carlisle for Madrid on 5 January 2008, within seven weeks he'd already completed his first collection and yesterday in Paris he unveiled his second. So it was something of an understatement when he told us today, ‘It's been quite an interesting year.' He's now living in a house with a swimming pool in Madrid and says ‘waking up every day to a blue sky helps when you're the creative director of Spain's oldest luxury fashion house, Loewe.' So what does Loewe mean to him? ‘I had to get to the heart and soul of the brand so I came up with a series of words that are distinctively Loewe: suave, sexy, baroque, smooth, Picasso, red lips and armfuls of bangles.' We like! But not as much as his Amazonia bag - a new version of the house's most famous bag from the 1970s which he has successfully reworked for this season. Oh, and the shoes, which are simply divine. So Stuart we salute you! Read more from the man himself in an upcoming issue of Grazia but for now check out Loewe's latest collection below...
