Victoria Beckham stops traffic in THOSE boots

default

Well, not quite... But David and Victoria Beckham did bring Manhattan to a standstill as 2,000 screaming fans turned out in driving rain to see the power couple launch their his'n'hers fragrance. And whilst David looked dashing (when doesn't he?) in a Tom Ford suit it was his wife who really stole the fashion limelight in a Giambattista Valli dress and £3,300 Antonio Berardi thigh-high latex boots with no heel. No heel you say? Yep people, they're an emerging shoe trend so you'd better get used to it (and re-teach yourself how to walk). Blame Marc Jacobs - it started with his S/S '08 surreal heels, where the heels were backwards - and then Berardi and Stella McCartney showed heel-less shoes and boots for this A/W. The designers say having a heel is purely psychological, insisting the bigger than normal platform balances the heels. Hmm... we're not entirely convinced. How about you? As on-trend as Vicky B's boots might be, will you be wearing shoes without heels? Tell us below.

PS - Antonio Berardi's S/S '09 show is today at 5pm Paris time and we'll be there reporting on whether the shoes have heels this season!

  • Gross. With legs that skinny what was she thinking? Publicity stunt methinks, she can't honestly think she looks good in them.

  • Like the idea of heel-less shoes, but it's gone wrong here. Sorry Posh.

  • Such a pap-whore! David is such a trooper putting up with it. She looks like a Bond Villain plus that dress is too small for her judging by the way it's riding up those dreadful Catwalk-only boots. Love Vic but she should really start to dress her age.

  • Why does this woman always have to try so desparately hard. It's so cringe-worthy. The boots, the pose, the smirk, no no no.
