Roisin Murphy’s Fashion Marathon

default

Can anyone hazard a guess as to the size of Roisin's wardrobe back home? No, us neither - it would only lead to pure clothing envy. After all the singer's been on a fashion marathon. In London she was all smoothed down hair, voluminous shoulders, then came Milan and a fashion marathon as she went to almost every show. And now she's popped up in Paris too. Phew! One day she's a sailor, the next a librarian and the next a she-devil from outta space! So, who is this Irish lady who has become the leader of the pack when it comes to being a style chameleon? Well, you'll probably recognise her as the lead singer of Moloko (remember the classic 1999 dance hit Sing It Back?), she is now a solo singer/songwriter and much loved style icon by those in know - she's even had stage outfits produced by Viktor & Rolf, Gareth Pugh and Givenchy (to name but a few). Known for her super shoulder padded Margiela pieces, crazy hats, even quirkier songs and her ability to carry these looks off, as she told Grazia at the Luella show ‘I just love fashion'. That's self-evident Roisin. Let's take her Milan trip: from head-to-toe Dolce & Gabbana to tons of Moschino including two military-style blue coats and a black fringed coat, a Gold YSL bag, Ferragamo heels to a Gucci purple satin dress with a brown coat and much, much more. Of course, there is another mastermind behind her looks, Kabir, her stylist from Drama magazine - who we'll be catching up with later on this week to get all the inside info on Roisin's style. But in the mean time, we're sure you'll have something to say about her Milan fashion week of style...

  • I am sorry to disagree Grazia but she's not stylish in the slightest. And wtf is she even doing at the shows, let alone in the front row??

  • I think she has great style - it's rare that someone actually has fun with fashion and doesn't get wrapped up in what's on trend or too fashiony... shes always done it differently and I admire that

  • I'm sorry but I'm with Tigerlili on this one - she looks a fright in every single outfit!

  • AMAZING! Roisin is gorgeous. Having fun in beautiful clothes and not caring what the others are saying. Good for you girl! Amazing voice and songs as well. A true alternative diva.

  • It's all a bit unearthly. A bit too hyper-put-together-I'm an alien from the Planet Fashion. I hope she had fun but it all looks like it might actually have been quite hard work. How did she pack it all in her space pod??

  • Trying too hard!!! I find it hard to identify which look is HER PERSONAL style, all the great fashion icons have a style and stick to it. The reason why Roisin and Posh will never be fashion icons is they wear anything by anyone who is someone.

  • HMA is right, its great to see someone have fun with fashion. She was a breath of fresh air during fashion week compared to the usual po-faced fash' pack that occupied the front rows.

  • I totally agree with ness14 - TRYHARD!! Total opposite to Kate Moss style queen. Looks like she's gone through a catalogue and not looked in the mirror before leaving the house.
