Guess who’s just popped into the Grazia office?

25 September 2008

One of our favourite handbag designers, Pauric Sweeney. The lovely Irishman wanted to show us his new collection of neon colour-pop bags that are being exclusively stocked in London's Dover Street Market. He's moved away from his patent and snakeskin finishes for now (our personal lust-have of last season) and onto hi-tech synthetic materials jazzed up with interesting prints and massive cobalt zip pulls. Why? ‘I'm not a one shape, five colours type of bag designer. Some materials just aren't right for the shape,' he told us. ‘I've used 350 materials, working like a puzzle designing and fitting the fabric to the shape.' We love the black and white print that's inspired by the Memphis furniture movement and the neon pink satchel is amazing too. So hot in fact that Agyness Deyn snapped one up at Dover St Market as they were unpacking them to display in the store. And you know what they say: if it's good enough for Agy... Get to Dover Street quick though - they're only there until net week when they're being moved to Paris for Fashion Week. Pauric Sweeney on the up.
