The two shows that saw the climax of LFW couldn't have been more different. Whilst at Issa the set was white, the clothes were pretty and the front row was full of royals and their hangers-on, Vivienne Westwood was dark, punky and buzzing with rock chicks. It was perhaps fitting then that the venue was Earl's Court, the entrance felt like the stampede before a concert and that there was the ubiquitous hour long wait for the show to start. Not that it mattered. There were plenty of FROW action to keep us entertained. As well as the usual suspects - Henry Holland, Pixie, Jamie Winstone (who modelled for Vivienne last season), Kimberley Stewart, Erin O'Connor, Mischa Barton, Dita Von Teese and Emma Watson - Pamela Anderson provoked a stir by turning up with a white-masked man, Girls Aloud Nicole complained loudly about being in row three and Kate Moss made her first LFW appearance, emerging from backstage to perch on the end of the FROW with friend Fran Cutler. Fashion Editors eyed her jealously as she sipped champagne from a plastic cup, the only person in the room to have a drink. As for the show? Vivienne did what she does best. Fitted jackets, slouchy suits and every kind of sculptured dress reworked in fabrics true to Vivienne's Brit-Rock roots - tartan and gold lame. It wasn't quite the theatrics of last season, but Vivienne knows how to be the showmaster. She sent her current muse (and one of Grazia's favourite models) Tolula down the catwalk wearing no top, Daisy Lowe did her usual fierce stomping walk and self-proclaimed ‘Westwood Virgin' Alexa Chung took to the catwalk for the first time. But whilst it took the crowd a good while to recognise and respond to Alexa, Vivienne got a standing ovation as she took her walk with model-of-the-moment Jourdan Dunn looking fabulous in black shiny leggings. ‘It was beautiful, absolutely beautiful,' Jamie Winstone gushed to us as we joined the crush to cross town to Vivienne's after-show party at 33 Portland Place. ‘I loved all the Russian headpieces. They'll definitely be a purchase of mine.' We shouldn't have stopped to chat really. To get into the after-party required elbows fiercer than Vivienne's collection. Emma Watson was shooed away until her posse pulled the ‘Don't you know who I am?' line and even Viv's model Tolula was left shivering outside. Don't worry - she was wearing a top by that point.
