Buyer’s picks from Todd Lynn

default

Maybe it was because we'd eaten too many egg sandwiches beforehand. Or got a little carried away dancing to the juke box. But we decided we needed a fresh perspective on Todd Lynn's evocative, moody and exquisitely tailored show at the Topshop space yesterday. So we knew who to call - Matches buyer Mark Baverstock. ‘Visually it was a very strong show,' he said. ‘It was still focused around his tailoring but he'd introduced dresses which was really interesting. The cut of the dresses was amazing - after all he was on Roland Mouret's cutting team. There were beautiful leather cropped and shrunken biker jackets too, one which had feather revers on the front in the folds of the collar.' So do Matches customers look specifically to support British talent? ‘Yes, it's always great for us to support the homegrown talent. Todd sells well but his androgyny is a great look but a niche market. So I'm excited about the introduction of dresses...' So are we, Mark. So are we. Check out the pictures below and tell us whether you agree.
