What do you get if you throw a party on a hotel rooftop with cocktails, canapés and free access to take whatever you want from the new Topshop collection? Fash-pack carnage, that's what! The fashion crowd killed time between the Proenza Schouler and Marc Jacobs shows yesterday by hanging out at The Gramercy Park Hotel to celebrate Topshop's soon-to-be permanent home in New York. The SoHo store was meant to launch in mid October but it's been delayed due to a few construction nightmares. Escalators are being flown in from Switzerland and Sir Phillip Green himself is flying into New York this weekend to ‘bang some heads together' to make sure the store can open its doors before Thanksgiving. Yikes - we wouldn't like to be there for that meeting! Well from the sound of squealing coming from Roisin Murphy, Natalie Portman and a host of models including Jourdan Dunn as they rifled through the rails of clothes, something tells us New York's certainly going to embrace good old British ToSho.
