Camilla Morton hits New York

default

We hooked up with one of our favourite fashion authors Camilla Morton as she arrived in New York to plan the US release of her book A Year in High Heels - oh and check out some shows.

‘A copy of Grazia, 27 Dresses, Made of Manhattan and obviously Sex and the City as my in-flight movie curtain call and I was ready for New York when we touched down at lunchtime today at JFK. After mistaking Elijah Wood at the baggage reclaim for one of the backstage photographers (he did look so very familiar, I had decided he had for sure either gone to school with my brothers or was ‘in fashion') I  finally located my taxi and headed into Manhattan.  New York, New York - so good they named it twice as the song goes... I checked into my hotel behind some impossibly fashionable French group (one who had flown long haul in YSL Tribute shoes) and stumbled up to my room. Starbucks or hot new designer... Starbucks rice crispy square or hot new designer? And then the heavens opened and a hurricane hit town. SO thrilled everyone told me to dress for temperatures in the thirties... Room service me thinks. Just like the tennis, bad weather going to cancel play today I feel. Oh well, Thakoon and Marc Jacobs to keep me entertained soon.'

Check back tomorrow for Camilla's inside scoop.
