The shoes causing an Extreme fash-off

default

Now this is what we call extreme shopping. We are green with envy having just heard that Marigay McKee, fashion and beauty director of Harrods, has out manoeuvred a waiting list, 400 people long, to get her mitts on our favourite shoe. The object in question, the Dior Extreme Shoe, was previewed on none other that SJP in the Sex And The City movie and, since it hit the stores in July the £420 trophy footwear has barely alighted on the shelves for any length of time. ‘I had to have a pair,' admits Marigay, ‘but with a waiting list that long I'd be in hot water if anyone suspected me of queue barging. It's a nightmare. They come in to the store and I have to watch them go out again....on the feet of other women! So I've had my credit card number lodged with just about every major Dior stockist in the world and earlier this week, Paris came up trumps. I debuted them at the GQ Awards. Ta Da!!!' We know it's superficial. We know the world is beset with economic and political crises. And we know we should know better, but we can't help but think this is a triumph of style over adversity. And anyone who has ever truly, madly deeply loved a pair of shoes will understand. Result!
