We were practically glowing with national pride when cyclist Victoria Pendleton - one of the stars of Grazia's gorgeous Olympic fashion shoot back in July - won gold in Beijing. So when Vicky called us with a fashion crisis of gargantuan proportions (just days to go until the GQ Awards and nothing to wear), we were honoured to hook her up with the ultimate British fashion house Burberry, who kindly kitted her out in a gorgeous purple gown with towering chunky heels. When we checked in on her this morning (not a hangover in sight) Vicky told us she'd had an ‘absolutely awesome' evening, but admitted the red carpet was terrifying: ‘All the photographers were calling my name and I felt like a rabbit in headlights! Then Elle Macpherson came down the carpet after me, posing like I pro. I thought, "That's what I should have done!"'
Once inside, Vicky and the rest of Team GB were presented with flowers by Elton John and Lily Allen, and received a standing ovation from the star-studded crowd. But of all the famous faces, who was it that Vicky wanted to meet? Mark Ronson, perhaps? Elizabeth Hurley? Actually, no. Vicky only had eyes for none other than Dave Grohl, lead singer of the Foo Fighters: ‘I was obsessed! I spent the whole night planning something credible and intelligent to say to him, but in the end I just told him I loved him! Thankfully he was really nice and we had a good chat.' Oh Vicky, you are Grazia's favourite Golden Girl. And your outfit's a winner too... Don't you think Burberry should sign Vicky up as their new campaign star?
