Yesterday Love Magazine premiered their exclusive backstage video of Louis Vuitton's Spring Summer 2014 collection at Paris Fashion Week. Shot by Joe Conrad Williams, the 1 minute 11 second black and white films, manages to simply and beautifully capture the magic of designer Marc Jacobs' final runway outing for the French fashion house.
Using funerals as the theme and paying homage to the inspirational women in his life Jacobs' show featured models adorned with feathers, which play an intricate part in the collection. As the Louis Vuitton beauty team perfects the hair and make-up looks, we get a look at some of the amazing props used in the catwalk extravaganza. From the black horse on the carousel, which would later be ridden by Sports Illustrated superstar Kate Upton, to the Vuitton clock, it’s a rare glimpse at the efforts that take place ahead of a runway show of this scale.
Marc himself can be seen giving his models the once over, including placing the finishing touches to Upton’s outfit, before she relaxes with a pre-show drink. A special cameo comes from Vogue US Editor in Chief Anna Wintour, one of Marc’s inspirational women who we see standing by the carousel. Then as the models take to the runway we see the infamous nude model body painted with Stephen Sprouse print Louis Vuitton lettering for the occasion.
The video is now available to view on the Love website.
