Exclusive: we speak to Chanel girl Cara
Backstage at the Chanel show, Grazia Daily meets Cara Delevingne; without a doubt the model still commanding everyone's attention. With those power brows, minxy curled-at-the-edges smile and bouncy energy, it's hard not to watch her as she prances about.
Because not for Ms Delevingne Parisian-esque skin-tight leather and towering heels. Today she's wearing an outfit which is pretty much sleepover-with-your-mates material. Ever the tomboy, Cara is dressed in a no-fuss white T-shirt over a Calvin Klein bra, slouchy tartan trousers and bare feet. A spiky Rodarte necklace is the only fierce part of her outfit, but, she says, it's 'not great for hugging people'.
And now there's an exciting addition to her wardrobe. 'Look how cool these are!' the 20-year-old whips out a pair of monochrome sunglasses with a flippy front. They're about to hit Chanel's Spring Summer 2014 catwalk and Cara is the first to wear them. 'I can't wait! Whether you're in the rain, the wind, the sunshine…' Cara models them for us. 'Genius!'
In fact, the whole show is a work of genius with Karl Lagerfeld transforming the Grand Palais into an art gallery. The catwalk is adorned with around 75 installations, all designed by the Kaiser himself. 'He's a real artist, he's so creative in everything he does,' raves Cara, who's represented by Storm Models. 'The clothes that we're wearing for this one especially make you feel like a piece of art.' The colourful makeup inspired by painters' palettes certainly added to the effect, topped off with sharp blunt wigs.

Of course, Cara has a particularly close relationship with Monsieur Lagerfeld - she's his muse du jour - so it's no surprise the model sees him as 'my fashion dad. He's so lovely and he's such an interesting man. I could sit and talk to Karl for hours. He has so many amazing stories and he just knows so much.'
Considering Cara is focusing on her acting these days, she's looking forward to shooting more mini-movies with the designer. 'When you're doing his films, he has the whole idea in his mind. I've done a few Chanel films but I think he should [direct] more. He's got such a talent for that.'

Speaking of Cara's many skills, she begins trilling mid-interviewing, reminding us of her recent sing-a-long with Will Heard. 'Standing next to him, I sound like a Goddamn backing singer!' she says of their duet. 'We did it twice, his guitar string broke and the next day it was out. I was like, "Oh my God! Jeez". I wasn't prepared.' It seems Cara is more content with busking on the streets. 'Wherever we go, we're making music, whether we're sitting in the bath or wherever… We just jam out.'
Today, though, Cara is ‘very excited’ to be at the Chanel show; 'It's so cool being a Chanel girl!'. What more, it's the final stretch of fashion week. 'Paris is the last one so everyone's very tired but it's amazing because everyone's keeping each other going, keep smiling, keep happy.'
High-fives to that.
