UPDATE: Victoria Beckham Wore Monochrome Tailoring For Her NYFW Runway Bow

08 September 2013 by

UPDATE: As predicted, VB did choose plenty of black for her S/S'14 runway bow: some loose-fit cropped slacks and killer Manolo Blahniks in fact, paired up quite simply with a white shirt. This surely echoes her shownotes: "I have set boyish elements against a sense of femininity." Didn't we tell you she'd rock the hell outta her own fashion concept? We did. She arranged her look after being suitably decked out pre-show in casual attire: that's jeans, a grey marl tee and some white sneakers. Yes, people, sneakers.

Like many designers Victoria Beckham – who will present her spring/summer 2014 collection today in just a few hours – chooses not to wear anything too flashy for her final catwalk bow.

The amount of createurs you’ll find dashing about backstage in easy jeans and a t-shirt is far greater than those wearing anything mapcap, but ever the deft promotions guru, VB still finds a way each and every time to hint towards the direction of her new season, the path of her fashion mood: aka the items that you’ll want to pop into your own wardrobe sharpish. And she always, always, looks chic, sleek and pulled together. Which considering the series of all-nighters many labels have to endure pre-show, then that’s a pretty impressive feat.

What will she wear today? That we do not know… yet. However, GraziaDaily's Fashion 360 team will be backstage ready and waiting to reveal all to you the moment it happens. In correlation with the style codes of VB’s two collections, her mainline catwalk exits tend to show her uptown, glossier, grown-up side, while the look she may choose for her Victoria by Victoria Beckham runway bow could follow the line’s significantly cuter, more casual vibe. Most of all, we confidently wager that there will be black involved.

Despite her successful multi-brand empire and her assured business acumen, Mrs Beckham can still be a little bit shy when it comes to taking centre stage post-show, choosing to sweetly dash in and out within a split second, even going so far as to cover her face. Although she launched with side order of big buzz in 2009, it was actually the autumn/winter 2013 show that Victoria first stepped out onto that high profile catwalk.
