Packing For New York Fashion Week: What’s In Our Make-Up Bag

04 September 2013 by

Oh. Em. Gee. New York Fashion Week has finally arrived ladies, and as we type, team Grazia beauty are actually in the Big Apple! Honestly, we’re so excited we can hardly speak. With the Spring 2014 collections set to hit the catwalks within a matter of minutes (eek!), we feel like we’ve spent the past few days in a manic state desperately trying to downsize our make-up bags. It might have taken us 3 days (no jokes) but at long last, here is our edit of the beauty items that are going to keep us calm, cool, collected and hopefully beautiful, for the whole duration of NYFW. Read on and learn, ladies!

Team Grazia Beauty's NYFW Essentials

DHC Revitalizing Moisture Strips For Eyes, £6.95: A long plane journey does nobody’s skin any favours, so we’ll be popping these bad boys under our eyes just we nod off on board. While you sleep, these nifty little strips work hard to tackle puffiness, dark circles and dehydration, so come touchdown tomorrow morning, we’ll be all starry-eyed and ready for a big first day.

Bobbi Brown No Smudge Mascara, £19: A no smudge mascara is an absolute essential over any fashion week, and this one really does what it says. What’s more, the gorgeous silver tube will look pretty awesome in our handbag to boot.

Acqua Di Parma Iris Nobile Travel Spray, £79: What could be more fashion friendly than this stunning purse spray? We cannot wait to spritz away…

Chantecaille Poudre De Perle in Akoya Pearl, £48: For when our complexion is looking a little lacklustre, a slick of this across our cheeks will guarantee an instant radiant glow. What’s more, the clever built in brush means you don’t have to carry round two things- we’re a sucker for beauty multi-tasking.

Paul & Joe Hair and Body Mist, £11.50: We are truly obsessed with this sweet sea and citrus-scented mist, which never fails to perk up day-old hair or a sweaty body post running around between shows (trust us, it’s not all as glamorous as it sounds). We like to think of this as a rather posh deodorant- a true fashion week make-up bag essential!

NARS The Happening Eye And Cheek Palette: Every beauty buff needs an amazing palette in her stash, and this one from NARS is one of our absolute favourites. Why? Well, it has everything you need to look groomed round the clock, so even if we head out of our hotel at 7am and come back at 11pm, we know we’ll still be looking hot to trot. Complete with cult blusher in Orgasm and bronzer in Laguna, this is a true hero and gets our full, full marks.

Bourjois Poudre de Riz De Java, £9.99: This gorgeous little pot was Bourjois’ first ever international bestselling product, and is now back on the market to celebrate the brand’s 150th anniversary. We’re not sure what we love more- the beautiful vintage-inspired packaging or the radiance-enhancing powder. Either way, a slick of this across the T-Zone is a sure-fire way to a fresh complexion, whatever the day throws at us!

Lancome Rouge in Love in Crazy Tangerine, £21: There’s nothing like a bright pout to perk up a tired face, and this one from Lancome is one of our absolute favourites. We like to blot our lips with this for a gorgeous, matte stain. Come cocktail hour, the colour can be built up for a serious injection of glamour.

Neal’s Yard Remedies To Roll in Relaxation, £6.25: For when it all gets too much, we swear by this heavenly, lavender-scented roll-on. We like to apply this to our temples and the insides of our wrists- zzzzz…….
