Modelarama! Naomi, Karen, Joan, Jourdan AND Karlie Hit Diane Von Furstenberg's Catwalk

09 September 2013 by

While NYFW has already offered plenty of A-list sightings and extensive fodder for our fantasy shopping lists, it took Diane von Furstenberg to make this season’s fist proper catwalk star moment.

With a front row studded with glamorous faces from Jessica Alba to the Hilton sisters, the stage was set for a buzzy show. With Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Joan Smalls and Karen Elson all stalking the runway in Diane signature 70s styles, the show’s production values were looking pretty impressive. But it wasn’t until Naomi Campbell took her first steps on to the Lincoln Centre runway, that the show became truly sizzling.

Ms Campbell showcased one of Diane’s safari inspired in a black dress with tribal motifs. Looking statuesque and as haughtily beautiful as ever, Naomi proved she could still create a ‘super’ fashion moment – causing the crowd to whoop with glee.

Indeed today’s show had an irresistible party atmosphere with Blurred Lines, Crazy in Love and Get Lucky providing a soundtrack that had the FROW doing some serious chair dancing. The clothes as ever reflected that goodtime vibe with sexy maxi dresses laced up at the sides, bold safari prints and vistas, vivid colours from ochre to cobalt and that addition of Studio 54 glitz that Diane knows best.

The question is of course, is will we be seeing more of Naomi this season? Having celebrated her 25th fashion anniversary, the 43 year old model looks just as great as she ever did – but perhaps she’ll just make this fleeting appearance and leave us wanting more. That would be very Naomi. Here’s hoping she’ll decide to deign us with her presence again over this long fashion month!
