When it comes to Fashion Week, there’s no denying that our beady beauty eyes are all over the amazing looks coming down the catwalk. However, equally exciting are the uber-glamorous and bang-on-trend hair and make-up looks we spot on the fashionistas in the front row. Whilst all eyes might be on the models strutting their stuff, team Grazia beauty are far more interested in what’s going on up top, especially when it comes to some of Hollywood’s hottest perched on their benches enjoying the show. Alas, looking good in the front row (aka ‘FROW’ in fash and beauty land) ‘aint easy, what with all the to-ing and fro-ing, hot lights and early/late starts and finishes. We caught up with make-up guru Wendy Rowe who revealed her top tips for the ultimate FROW beauty... Read on and learn girls!

Grazia Daily: Hi, Wendy! In your opinion, who do you think has a winning FROW beauty look?

Wendy Rowe: Hmm… it’s got to be Olivia Palermo. She’s always chic, perfectly turned out, always works a specific look and isn’t afraid to experiment. Let’s face it- we all want to be her! Sienna Miller always looks great too, effortlessly cool and never overdone. Oh, and Alexa Chung.

Grazia Daily: What are the beauty difficulties experienced by fashion week FROW-ers?

Wendy Rowe: Where do I start?! During fashion week, days are so long and editors and celebs are constantly going from hot to cold, plus there’s very little time to stop and take check. So you can imagine how difficult it is to ensure that make-up stays in place all day, and tricky to avoid the dreaded shine and dehydration.

Grazia Daily: What are your best-ever tips for total FROW beauty success?

Wendy Rowe: Camera flashes will highlight any shine on the face, so make sure you have some blotting papers to hand to use between shows (I love the Shu Uemura ones, from £9.50). MAC’s Blotting Powder, £20 will also prevent shine and will ensure your make-up lasts for hours. When it comes to choosing your lipstick, pick one with a little shine- these are always more moisturising- crucial for avoiding the dreaded cracked lips. Throw in some eye drops and a bottle of water and you’re good to go!

Grazia Daily: Any FROW ‘don’ts’?

Wendy Rowe: Although it is about fashion and you should be aware of the trends, don’t be a slave to them and try to be yourself. Steer clear of anything too shiny as camera flashes can make you look oily- not cool! Also keep an eye on your lipstick to avoid fading and smudging, and try not to be too OTT with your beauty look- at the end of the day it’s someone else’s show… not yours!

Grazia Daily: Are there any trends you think we might see on the FROW this season?

Wendy Rowe: I think we might see a lot more colour.  People are going to be wearing animal print too. In terms of make-up I would love to see lots of Bordeaux-red lips and nails.  Perhaps a slightly dishevelled smoky eye, and, if we are lucky some Prada and Marc Jacobs wet-look hair, but it’s a tough one to carry off!
