While New York Fashion Week might be getting all the column inches, this evening that city provided the venue for one of the most illustrious new Fashion Awards that we've ever attended. And while we don't like to brag, we can't help but give our incredible Editor Jane Bruton a massive shout out for scooping International Magazine Editor of the Year. The award was presented to our EIC by New York's premier designer, Marc Jacobs no less.
Mr Jacobs honoured Jane with her trophy in front of an audience which included A-listers like Lady Gaga and Jessica Biel, industry stalwarts like Bruce Weber and Joe Zee and a gaggle of beauties including Kate Upton, Heidi Klum and Karlie Kloss. In his speech he praised Jane's Editorship saying that she "is in large part responsible for the only relevant British women's weekly fashion magazine." Hear, hear! "She is as tireless as she is talented," the designer continued. "She's the perfect combination of smart, bubbly and fun - and from what I hear, sometimes a little too much fun."
Jane joined a stellar list of winners that read like the good and the great of New York's media industry. The debut awards was produced by The Daily Front Row, an insider fashion industry title which comes into its own during New York fashion week. Both Heidi and Karlie nabbed gongs while Joe Zee won Best Creative Director, Ingrid Sischy won the award for Best Scoop for her Vanity Fair John Galliano interview and V Magazine won Best Title, presented by Gaga.
