Cara Delevingne may have stormed the shows last season but a few days into New York Fashion Week, there's one lady who's really on a roll: Edie Campbell. She stomped Alexander Wang's runway alongside fellow Brits Jourdan Dunn and Georgia May Jagger last night and early this morning, she was hitting the Victoria Beckham show. In fact, Edie was the model to open the much-anticipated collection, which is VB's tenth no less. Backstage before the show, Edie was in high-demand as she lead the model line-up for rehearsals, but we managed to grab a chat to find out what it's really like to be a VB girl.
'It's exciting and flattering to open the show, but also daunting because you want to do a good job. What's the worst that could happen?' the Brit beauty asked. 'I really shouldn't say that!' With shoes including polished mule wedges and elastic wrapped heels, was she feeling steady on her feet? 'I haven't worn a pair of heels for about a month and a half so I'm a bit nervous, but it'll be fine.'
This show is especially exciting for Edie considering she's long been 'obsessed' with Victoria. 'I really want to be bessie mates!' the model giggled. 'I think she's great, she's really funny and is a force of nature.' As for Ms Campbell, she has more than a few accolades on her own CV. 'I finished my degree last June so we'll see what's next,' she said mysteriously. The new face of VB perhaps? Ooh, we do hope so.
