Award winning designer and multi-tasker extraordinaire Christopher Raeburn has given rainwear AND sustainable fashion a sexy new face – not an easy task – and now he’s making the lives of LFW attendees a great deal easier too. Partnering up with Amex, Christopher has personally styled their power team of ‘Amex Insiders’, aka the ultimate concierge service...
“The Amex Insiders” return to London Fashion Week, styled exclusively in S/S14 by Christopher Raeburn and photographed by Kerry Dean
The Insiders will be on hand around Somerset House and The Fashion Monitor Style Lounge at The May Fair Hotel to assist the front row (and the rest!) with everything from confirming show times and venue locations to making dinner reservations, overnight stays and much more. Sounds pretty good, right?
So in addition to his new role as Aristic Director of Victorinox, plus collaborations with Rapha and Fred Perry plus his eponymous men’s and women’s collections, it was a mere miracle to pin London boy Raeburn down for a quick Q&A…
GraziaDaily: So Christopher, we understand you are dressing the Amex Insiders this season. How did you go about creating the concierge’s uniforms??
Christopher Raeburn: All the uniforms are drawn from Made in England pieces that customers will be able to buy from our Spring / Summer 2014 collections - the Amex Insiders are fantastic ambassadors for showcasing the quality and functionality of these looks. ??
GraziaDaily: How would you sum up your brand in three words?
Christopher Raeburn: Functional and Fun.

GraziaDaily: You’ve won a lot of awards and accolades (congrats!) – which one has meant the most to you, and what would you like to achieve next??
Christopher Raeburn: The British Fashion Award for Emerging Talent – Menswear was a real milestone; it was a great moment, receiving that endorsement from press and buyers. The industry’s continued support, along with that from our customers, is an ongoing achievement I’m still very proud of and hope to grow.??
GraziaDaily: Who would be your dream Christopher Raeburn wearer and why??
Christopher Raeburn: Amanda Hearst – I really appreciate her personal aesthetic and her passion for supporting sustainability. ??
Christopher Raeburn's A/W'13 collection featuring a black pop-out parka - his most popular piece
GraziaDaily: Do you know what your most popular womenswear pieces are on the shop floor? And do you know why??
Christopher Raeburn: It’s the Pop-out Parka - one of our signature pieces. It’s a luxurious style that offers value, protection and comfort.??
GraziaDaily: Where did the idea for your dogg bags come from??
Christopher Raeburn: Each season we produced a different animal from off-cuts from studio manufacturing, these naturally evolved into accessories as they became a popular element of the collection.??
Harper Beckham's little Raeburn doggy!
GraziaDaily: And how did you come to send one to Harper Beckham??
Christopher Raeburn: After Victoria Beckham mentioned she’d bought a piece of ours online last year, we then heard that she was interested in the animal bags. It was kind of her to show support on Instagram.??

GraziaDaily: With your interest in military style, do you enjoy it when that becomes a big trend across the board, or do you prefer to keep it to yourself??
Christopher Raeburn: We always try and bring a modernity to our aesthetic, so whilst it’s great to be recognised for your role in a trend, I like to think our work always has a uniqueness.??
GraziaDaily: What do you never get bored of designing? ?
Christopher Raeburn: Outerwear.??
GraziaDaily: Duh, of course! So what’s your studio like pre-LFW? And what do you rely on to get through this mad time??
Christopher Raeburn: We try to be as organised as possible but you know it's crunch time when the radio gets switched from BBC6 to ‘80s classics...??
GraziaDaily: What will you do to relax afterwards??
Christopher Raeburn: Actually I'm best man at a wedding the following day so the party is sure to carry on there!
