American ‘plus-sized’ model Kate Upton has achieved many great things: she’s a veteran of Sports’ Illustrated, has been photographed for several Vogue covers and stood defiant against a swathe of criticism over her size. But none of the above will surely match the tenor of being the muse and focus of Victoria Aitken’s new song: Body. Listen to it below:
The link might seem tenuous at first, but bear with the 33-year-old daughter of (disgraced) former MP Jonathan Aitken, as she explains: ‘This song is for the 'Kate Upton' and how they are changing the way we should feel about our body, and she should be celebrated.’ Put simply, she says: 'Get down Kate', you rock!’
So what of the song? It’s dancey, quite loud, you know, ‘European’ sounding. There are plans to release it in Germany which probably explains why she is moving to Berlin in the New Year ‘to further pursue her music activities and upcoming collaborations’.
You might be surprised to hear it’s not the first time Victoria written a fashion-themed song. She started her career with Vicky From The Yacht which was a play on JLo’s song of a similar title and which revealed that she likes yachts. Earlier this year she paid homage to model Andrej Pejic with her song Fashion Boy. Because while Andrej often models for womenswear he is -yes - a boy. So with Body neatly finishing things off, we can reveal that her song titles really are the sum of their parts.
While we're at it, let's listen to another of Victoria's classic hits...

Amanda Bradwell (Thu Dec 13 12:45:34 GMT 2012): Well done to Kate Upton for championing the cause of real women... wish we had somebody like that to model for Cara Mia Woman: http://www.hitched.co.uk/wedding-dresses/cara-mia-woman/.
