What It's Like To Holiday Like Pippa Middleton! We Visit The Grand Hotel De Bordeaux & Spa

Grazia Daily took a trip to the Grand Hotel De Bordeaux & Spa earlier this month. The hotel has recently welcomed none-other than Pippa Middleton so we knew we were going to be treated to an uber luxe stay - and we weren't wrong.

The 5*resort has an uber swanky roof terrace (that turns into a club/bar after the sun sets) as well as a decadent spa. Plus, it sits directly opposite the city's famous Opera House amidst the beautiful architecture of central Bordeaux. Here's 5 things you need to know about the hotel.

1. The food is amazing

Pippa ate at the 18th Century brasserie on the ground floor of the hotel. We sat down there to a menu of pork ribs, foie gras and oysters, with nibbles including teensy shrimps and crumbed duck skin (addictive) washed down with the fruitiest Bordeaux white wine. Plus, the buffet style breakfast featured every mini pastry you can ever imagine.

2. The room was fabulous

A huge double bed and equally large TV, a view of the Opera House and deluxe power-shower, Nespresso machine and marble bath... what more could you want?! Oh yeah - Guerlain products. Yum!

3. Oh hey spa!

The spa at the Grand Hotel was one of our all-time favourites. Luxurious, with deep burgundy walls and huge pre-Raphealite style paintings on the wall it featured a jet-powered pool

4. It's right opposite the Opera House

The hotel sits just across the square from Bordeaux's beautiful Opera House. We were lucky enough to get a behind the scenes tour, viewing gorgeous painted ceilings and decadent architecture. We were in Bordeaux for the city's outdoor ballet event - the Grand Hotel and the Opera House teamed up with CAViDeCO to live-stream a performance of Don Quichotte in the square. It was packed with locals and had an incredible atmosphere.

5. And it's a major party venue too..

Up on the 7th floor, the Night Beach wrap-around roof terrace is a major party venue for Bordeaux's chic locals. In the daytime visitors enjoy a light menu of Thai cuisine and champers as well as a jacuzzi.. but it's all change the evening. With DJs, themed evening and tapas - it's the bar to be seen in in Bordeaux.
