Today it's been revealed that Nigella Lawson is set to appear on Oprah. During court proceedings today, it emerged that the famous chef has signed an exclusive deal to tell all to the queen of A-list interviewers. Nigella sitting down with Oprah is set to be one of the most anticipated interviews of 2014 and although we may have a while to wait, what better time than now to take a look back at some of the Big O's most memorable interviewees and the secrets they revealed...
1. When Lindsay Lohan confessed to her addictions
Lindsay sat down with Oprah in August this year to 'share her truth', after leaving rehab. The troubled star eferred to herself as an "addict" and also discussed her tempestuous relationship with her parents. Talking about her bad rep in the movie business and how she hopes to turn it around, Lohan said, "As long as I stay honest with myself and just do the work that I am willing to do, and have been willing to do and am doing, there's nothing that can stand in the way of that, I'm my own worst enemy and I know that."
2. When Rihanna opened up about her abusive relationship
RiRi made an emotional appearance with Oprah last year where she broke down while discussing her relationship with ex Chris Brown. The singer who had previously kept quiet about the attack finally broke her silence. Referencing the infamous incident before the 2009 Grammy Awards, Rihanna said she felt, "angry, hurt and betrayed. It was embarrassing, it was humiliating. I lost my best friend."
3. When Lance Armstrong admitted to cheating during his cycling career
In January 2013, the disgraced cyclist gave a no-holds barred interview in which he admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs to win his seven Tour de France titles. He confessed his career was built on 'one big lie that I repeated a lot of times.' He also admitted to bullying others and called himself 'a jerk and humanitarian.'
4. When Michael Jackson addressed his plastic surgery for the first time
In 1993, MJ took Oprah on a tour of his Neverland ranch. The interview was watched by over a 100 million viewers around the world and included a guest appearance from the star's close friend, Elizabeth Taylor. He opened up about his changes in skin tone, his artistry and the many tabloid stories written about him. 'I have a skin disorder that destroys the pigmentation of the skin, it's something that I cannot help, OK?' he said. 'But, when people make up stories that I don't want to be who I am, it hurts me...it's a problem for me, I can't control it.'
5. Oh, and when Tom Cruise jumped on a couch
Who could forget the moment when the Hollywood actor declared his love for Katie Holmes by jumping on Oprah's couch back in 2005? The video went viral all over the world, and marked the moment when public opinion on Tom started to ever so slightly change. Tom and Katie might be long over, but this was one declaration of love we'll never forget.
