We Speak Exclusively to Perez Hilton About Being A Dad: ‘I’ve Got The Baby – Now I’m Waiting For My Brad Pitt’

He’s the most famous gossip columnist in Hollywood – responsible for regularly breaking A-list exclusives on his eponymous website. But in February Perez Hilton became the story himself when he unexpectedly revealed that he had become a single father to a little boy, Mario Armando Lavandeira III (nicknamed Perez Hilton, Jr.)

‘Earlier this month I was blessed with the birth of my first child – with lots of hair on his tiny head,’ the gossip blogger posted on his website on 27 February with a picture of him cuddling his new son. ‘My family is overjoyed at this newest and most cherished addition.’ Perez – who is gay and single - instantly became the top trending topic on Twitter.

In a rare interview in this week’s Grazia, doting daddy Perez, 35, tells how he’s coping with fatherhood, changing dirty nappies and how he wants a brood like Angelina Jolie. ‘It’s all come very naturally to me,’ he said. ‘And nappy changing is easy. The only shocker has been that boys pee all over you when you’re doing it! Learning to handle that was interesting. I didn’t even think about being a single father, because I didn’t want to wake up at 45-years-old and not have started a family because I didn’t have a partner.’

Perez, real name Mario Lavandeira, who used a surrogate to carry his biological child added, ‘I also believe in gay marriage and I hope that I’m lucky enough to experience that one day. I am inspired by Angelina Jolie [she adopted her first son Maddox, now 11, from Cambodia as a single mother] because she did it on her own. And then Brad Pitt came into her life. I’m waiting for my Brad Pitt. I definitely want more babies, and sooner rather than later. Having a big family has always been part of the plan.’
