Her debut album reached number 5 in the UK, she's worked with (to name but a few) Florence and the Machine, SBTRKT, Jack Penate and Felix White of Macabbees fame and she played the main stage at Bestival only a few weeks ago. Now working on her second album, it's safe to say South London songstress Jessie Ware is here to stay. We caught up with her to talk about her favourite looks from fashion month and her best beauty tips for life on the road.

Grazia Daily: Have you managed to catch any shows this Fashion Month at all?

Jessie Ware: No I haven’t, I kind of stayed away this time, because I’ve been in the studio. I’ve been following it on Instagram though, I mean I really wanted to go to the Roksanda (Ilincic) show. I thought Mulberry looked amazing, Roksanda looked great. I really liked some of the New York stuff too. Oh my god, Ralph Lauren killed it. There was some incredible red dress that I definitely want to wear some time. And Calvin Klein looked amazing. The nails at Henry Holland looked great, the person that does my nails did those nails, Sophy Robson, and she killed it, it was all religious with Madonnas and Jesus' and things like that.

Grazia Daily: Who are your go-to designers for red carpet wear?

Jessie Ware: I love Miu Miu, and I think Roksanda (Ilincic) does some amazing stuff for women. And I always feel really sexy in Dolce and Gabbana. Oh and my new favourite place for shoes is Tibi. Their shoes are incredible at the moment! It’s a big old mish-mash in my wardrobe. I've also been wearing a lot of kimonos by Athena Procopio and had a lot of fun with those over the summer.

Grazia Daily: Do you mix it up with high street and vintage?

Jessie Ware: Yeah man. I live in American Apparel, stretchy jeans, high waisted jeans and jodhpurs, I alternate between them, and Topshop kills it all the time.

Grazia Daily: If you could raid anybody’s wardrobe who would it be?

Jessie Ware: Either Bianca Jagger or Eva Mendez.

Grazia Daily: Good shout. Do you have any beauty tips you could share?

Jessie Ware: I’ve been going on loads of flights recently, and have been using the Sisley Flower Express Gel, I’ve been doing 5 flights a week and stuff and it’s really great to stop your skin drying out. I put it on at the beginning of the flight and it just absorbs. I love Aromatherapy Associates too, their rosewater spray is the most heavenly smell in the world.

Grazia Daily: Sound like it's tough being on the road so much - have you got any products that really keep you going?

Jessie Ware: I think coconut water is definitely a good pick-me-up. And I find drinking water really boring so coconut water's a really good alternative.

Grazia Daily: So you’re working on your 2nd album at the moment, how’s it going?

Jessie Ware: Good! I’m just about to go to the studio so it’s all wicked, I’m in London, I’m with my friends I’m writing some songs, I can’t complain, it’s pretty nice.

Grazia Daily: You’re good friends with the Maccabees, have they influenced your music style?

Jessie Ware: I wouldn’t say they’ve influenced it, Felix is my bestest friend and so’s Jack Penate so it’s definitely been really helpful to have big brothers to be able to reassure me when you know things are still new to me.

Grazia Daily: You were at a million festivals this summer, did you have any favourite moments?

Jessie Ware: I loved dressing up as a captain of a ship for Bestival, that was wicked and it was on the main stage after playing the Annie Mac tent the year before. To be on the main stage was pretty special, scary but great. All the UK festivals have been really special to me, I guess I feel like I haven’t been here at all this year, so when I come back it’s like always really, really nice.
