In this week's issue of Grazia we speak to Amanda Seyfried about the biopic of Linda Lovelace. Linda's family have criticised plans to turn the life of the 'world's first porn star' into a film - saying it further exploits a woman who was already being abused.
Amanda Seyfried said exclusively to Grazia about the film 'This is not a movie about a porn star - it's about a deeply twisted relationship. I fully believe Linda's viewpoint and that's of a woman who was physically abused.'
Linda became famous after Deep Throat which was produced by her manager and husband Chuck Traynor. Linda famously said that 'Every time you watch Deep Throat, you're watching me getting raped.' She pointed out that she suffered years of abuse at the hands of her husband and that the bruises on her leg were clearly visible on screen.
Amanda also said about the role: 'A lot of people didn't believe the story she had to tell. It's strange. I keep getting asked, "What's it like to play this crazy porn star?" but she's not that woman to me at all. She was in this crazy, unhealthy, twisted relationship, and, quite honestly, it's the darkest place I've ever gone to with a role.'
