Ok, so we may or may not have had a little cry at the video of Kanye West’s proposal to Kim Kardashian earlier this week. Obviously we’re ignoring the fact that it was clearly taken by one of their friends who has absolutely NO respect for their privacy what-so-ever.
Kanye popped the question at the AT&T baseball park in San Francisco on Monday – Kim’s 33rd birthday – hiring out the whole place for the special occasion and presenting her with a 15-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring he helped design.
But what else have we learnt from this video? Well, as Kanye got down on one knee the words ‘PLEEESE MARRY MEEE!!!’ flash up on the scoreboard and Lana Del Rey’s Young and Beautiful is clearly heard playing in the background (Kanye hired out a 50 piece orchestra, obvs). And when Kim says yes, they then start playing Knock You Down, a song Kanye wrote about his now fiancé way back when in 2009. We’ll ignore the fact they weren’t actually together then.
After Kim accepts his proposal all of their friends and family come out from the dugouts where they had been hiding to drink a whole load of champagne and toast the happy couple. Of course the KUWTK crew seem to be there to capture the whole magical moment. As Kanye clearly only paid the orchestra to play two songs music can be heard blasting out around the stadium.
When Kanye’s own song ‘Turn Up The Lights’ is played he and Kim do some awkward dancing whilst Jaden Smith seems to get very into it – note his head clutching – yeah, into it. The best part is that one point the guy who is filming the whole event is heard saying, ‘Will you propose to me?,’ we’re not sure who he is talking to.
