It's Trailer Thursday. This week, we're all about the leading ladies...
1. Winnie Mandela
Jennifer Hudson has come a long way since her American Idol days. The Oscar winning actress stars in a biopic of the life of Winnie Mandela which spans her childhood, marriage to Nelson and his subsequent incarceration. Filming actually took place in 2010 but due to legal issues including threats from Winnie Mandela herself, the film has finally been granted limited release this September.
The similarities between Naomi Watts and the late Princess of Wales are uncanny and if this trailer is anything to go by, the film - simply titled Diana - is likely to find us equally gripped and captivated. We wonder if Princes William and Harry will be watching...
3. Enough Said
Julia Louis-Dreyfus is perfect as the heroine of this comedy which sees a divorcee meet and fall for a new man only to become friends (unbeknown to her) with his ex-wife. Awkward. It's particularly poignant as the man in question is played by James Gandolfini and is the first of two films to be released posthumously.
Imagine if you could talk to your computer. No, not Siri but what if you were actually able to communicate with it like a real person? What then, if you were to fall in love with said operating system? This is the heartbreaking conundrum faced by Theodore, played by Joaquin Phoenix, in Her.
5. Muppets Most Wanted
You can't beat the Muppets for feel-good family fun and the little critters are back with a brand new all-singing, all-silly movie. Whoop! Featuring some of favourite ever funny people - Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais and Modern Family's Phil Dunphy aka Ty Burrell - we're also pretty excited about their rendition of songs such as Moves Like Jagger. Lols.
