Culture Cuts: Lily Allen's Return PLUS Azealia Banks Teams Up With Pharrell Williams

This week has mainly been about recovering from Glastonbury. We’ve spent it delicately picking off crusty bits of mud from our boots, doing several washes in the washing machine and feeling like we will definitely never, ever eat another Veggie burger as long as we live. Thank goodness then for all the new songs and trailers out there that we’ve got to enjoy! Let’s take a look at ‘em.

1) Check out the Passion trailer

Brian De Palma’s new film looks like Single White Female meets Wall Street. It’s a tale of corporate intrigue and power playing between two female business types. Watch above as Rachel McAdams does her best ‘crazy eyes’ at Noomi Rapace! Yikes!

2) Watch as Lily Allen returns

Pink’s new single True Love is your standard hummable melody and soft rockin’ chorus, in fact the most exciting part of it is the re-emergence of Lily Allen who crops up to sing the bridge. She appears about two and half minutes in preparing the most passive aggressive carrot and broccoli juice ever. Hurrah for ‘mad housewife’ Lily!

3) Woah, it's the new Phoenix video

Recent Grazia interview subjects Phoenix have teamed up with The Creators Project to create this very clever new video for Trying To Be Cool. Watch as things go “a bit OK Go”, there’s some exploding tickertape, a very excited dance troupe plus much camera trickery.

4) Listen as Azealia Banks and Pharrell team up

We’re still recovering after Azealia’s cray-cray Glasto get up and now we’ve got her rather amazing new song with Pharrell to deal with. ATM Jam is very ‘212 worthy’ with Mr Williams providing a brilliant guest vocal to the song about, um, cash machines.

5) Ciara and Nicki Minaj attempt to out cool each other

In the third of this week’s ‘LOOK! They’re real life buddies!’ installments Nicki Minaj has teamed up with Ciara for the space inspired video for I’m Out. It looks like they’ve taken a few styling tips from Michael and Janet Jackson’s Scream clip before Ciara busts out some serious dance moves…
