Liam Hemsworth, Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson
It's official - awards season is well and truly underway. We’ve yet to dust off our ballgowns, but some other stars have been doing exactly that. Last night was the 2013 People’s Choice Awards in Hollywood and as well as the funky frocks and gorgeous beauty looks, this one had its fair share of highlights during the ceremony. So, from the top…
1. Most Awks Moment: Olivia Munn pulls a ‘Kanye’ on Taylor Swift
As if nursing a broken heart after her split from Harry Styles wasn’t bad enough, Taylor Swift, winner of the Favourite Country Artist award, had to endure Olivia Munn’s attempt at beings LOLz. Spoofing Kanye West - who famously hijacked Taylor’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009 - Olivia presented the award to the singer in a mock huff before taking it back and trying to talk over her. It was, in Olivia's own words, ‘awkward’.
2. Biggest Patriot: Emma Watson
Emma Watson had a double victory at the awards. Not only did she take home Favourite Dramatic Movie Actress for her role in The Perks of Being A Wallflower - presented to her by the gorgeous Mr Eddie Redmayne - she also looked hot-to-trot in a graphic print Peter Pilotto frock. Also flying the Brit flag were One Direction (who picked up Favourite Song and Favourite Album) and The Wanted (Favourite Break Out Artist).
3. Most LOLs Acceptance Speech: Jennifer Lawrence
You’ve got to love the People’s Choice Awards for bringing us those oh-so-coveted categories like, erm, Favourite Face of Heroism. But regardless, it just added to the haul that the cast and crew of The Hunger Games walked away with, after snagging six awards between them. Jennifer Lawrence took the aforementioned gong, as well as Favourite Movie Actress and the film also bagged awards for Favourite Movie, Favourite Action Movie, Favourite Movie Franchise and Favourite On-Screen Chemistry. We'd like to award Jennifer another award too - best acceptance speech of the night.
4. Most Excited Person Ever: Jennifer Aniston
For a moment we thought Jen was at a pep rally or running for office. When accepting the award for Favourite Comedic Movie Actress, she hollered, ‘I love the people!’ Jen also made reference to her twenty year long career whilst wearing a rather punky black leather dress that showed of her enviable figure and amazing pins. Clearly biker boy Justin’s fashion sense is rubbing off on her.
5. Cutest Entourage: Alicia Keys
There were two vocal powerhouse performances last night. People’s Voice award winner Christina Aguilera performed Blank Page from her new album Lotus surrounded by candles (this isn't your bathroom, Chrissie). but it was Alicia Keys' performance of Girl On Fire that won our heart. Taking to the stage in a Michael Jackson inspired ensemble, she was watched by her husband Swizz Beatz and two year old son Egypt. Cute! But, waaaaaay past his bedtime.
