Golden Globes 2013 Nominations Are Out! See The 16 Style Icons We're Rooting For

14 December 2012 by

Awards season is upon us (already?!) and though we’ve been hearing lots of whispers about the main contenders, the first of the biggies have just announced the nominations for the Golden Globes 2013.

Frankly, we’re not sure how they’ve been able to narrow it down as there are just so many great movies and so many talented actors and actresses to choose from. But from what we can see, it’s been a great year for the ladies. Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty starring Jessica Chastain is up for Best Picture, Best Actress and Best Director – talk about girl power! Helen Mirren, Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Emily Blunt, Michelle Dockery and Rachel Weisz are all nominated proving that the Brits really are a big hit stateside.

We’re also really excited about Jennifer Lawrence who is up for best actress for Silver Linings Playbook. It’s been an epic year for her following the success of The Hunger Games and she’s completely nailed her red carpet look so we just know there are some gorgeous gowns to follow.

Anne Hathaway’s incredible performance in Les Miserables has also earned her a best supporting actress nomination and we’re delighted that Downton Abbey is up for best drama television series. Michelle and co will be facing stiff competition from The Newsroom, Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire and Homeland which has also earned a best actress nomination for Claire Danes. But with her little nipper due around the time of the awards, we’re wondering if she’ll even be able to attend…

This does mean however, that we can start speculating as to who will be wearing what on the red carpet and to whet your appetite, take a look at the full list below and scroll the gallery above to see our top 16 Golden Globe 2013 nominees to watch…
