Love Rat Ex-Boyfriend John Mayer Taylor Swift Trying To Win Back?

Taylor Swift has shocked us this week as she’s only gone and tried to get with her love rat ex-boyfriend… Yep, we’re talking about John Mayer. In this week’s issue of Grazia (out today), we give you the full low down on how Taylor ran into John – who she dated between 2009 – 2010 – at the recent Country Music Awards after party in Las Vegas.

We give you all the details on what happened when the couple met up, what was said and what they plan to do now. Of course, you might want a bit of a soundtrack to read your magazine to, so we’ve compiled you a little playlist made up entirely of songs written by Taylor about her ex boyfriends – something she’s very fond of doing. When you listen to Dear John – the piece she wrote about Mr.Mayer the first time they broke up – you’ll wonder why she’s so desperate to get her back after all…

The Man:

Joe Jonas, 23, July to October 2008

The Song:

Taylor is thought to have written, ‘Forever and Always’ about Joe. In the song she questions why he broke up with her saying, ‘Baby what happened, please tell me?’. The singer was thought to have been heartbroken after Joe dumped her over a 27-second phone call. Ouch.

The Man:

Taylor Launter, 20, October to December 2009

The Song:

‘Back to December’ is Taylors ode to her Twilight star ex, speaking of the December night on which they broke up she said in the song, ‘So this is me swallowing my pride, standing in front of you, saying I'm sorry for that night.’ Sadly, he didn’t take her back.

The Man:

John Mayer, 35, Late 2009 until early 2010

The Song:

In the aptly named, ‘Dear John’ Taylor lampooned Mr.Mayer saying that he had a ‘sick need to give love and take it away.’ In ‘Story of Us’ she said that their relationship was ‘killing’ her.

The Man:

Jake Gyllenhaal, 31, October to December 2010

The Song:

‘All too well’, a ballad in which Taylor talks about their happy times and getting close to his sister Maggie and ‘The Last Time’ where Taylor reveals that despite their connection Jake was ‘unreliable’.

The Man:

Harry Styles October 2012 – January 2013

The Song:

Taylor wrote ‘I knew you were trouble’ when she first met Harry Styles in early 2012 – however it didn’t stop her going back for more. When the pair finally split in early January Taylor got her own back on Harry by performing the song at the BRIT Awards, in a pair of hotpants, in front of all of his friends.
