Remembering Cory Monteith's Top 10 Moments On Glee

15 July 2013 by

Sad news broke this weekend. On Saturday night, 31-year old Cory Monteith passed away in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver. Best known for playing Finn Hudson in the hit TV series Glee, the circumstances surrounding his death have yet to be released though an autopsy is expected to take place today. As well as making him into a household name, Glee was also responsible for introducing Cory to his girlfriend of two years, Lea Michele, who played his on-screen romantic interest Rachel Berry. As friends, co-stars and fans pay tribute to the young actor on Twitter, we remember his top ten moments in Glee...

1. Don't Stop Believin'

One thing Glee does brilliantly is introducing classic songs to a new generation of music lovers. Most of its audience were not familiar with Journey's 1981 hit song until Finn, Rachel and members of McKinley High's Glee club performed it in the pilot episode which rocketed the original song back into the charts. Without a doubt, Cory will always be remembered for this iconic performance.

2. The Rocky Horror Show

Proof that all of our school plays would have been so much better if we'd had access to such a stellar costume department.

3. Marry You

It was a given that the Glee club would perform at the wedding of Finn's mum to Kurt's dad, right?!

4. Thriller/ Heads Will Roll

Famed for producing unexpected mash-ups, the Glee club show everyone how to put on a half-time show...

5. Grilled Cheesus

Finn Hudson isn't the sharpest tool in the box as demonstrated in this episode where he makes a grilled cheese sandwich with a striking resemblance, to, erm, Jesus.

6. Man In The Mirror

At Sectionals, Finn leads the guys in an all-male rendition of Michael Jackson's Man In The Mirror.

7. 'Stay away from my future wife'

When Finn finds out that Rachel's NYADA boyfriend Brody is working as a gigolo behind her back, he sets out to defend her honour.

8. Bye Bye Bye/ I Want It That Way

When Mr Schuster's fiancee Emma gets hysterical over their wedding plans, Finn accidentally kisses her to make her stop. The bromance between the two Glee teachers is tested when Mr Schu finds out leading to this amazing boy-band-off.

9. Fight For Your Right To Party

After successfully running the Glee club in Mr Schuster's absence, Finn decides to go to college to train to be a teacher. However, when he bumps into his old pal Puckerman, his focus gets somewhat derailed...

10. Keep Holding On

Back to the beginning... Though feelings are beginning to blossom between Finn and Rachel, news of his girlfriend Quinn's pregnancy rocks the group to its core. Tissues at the ready...
