As Psy's 'Gentleman' Video Reaches 50 Million Views, We Remember The 10 Best Dance Moves That Went Viral

15 April 2013 by

Gangnam Style is the most watched video of all time with 1.5 billion hits, and now Psy is back with Gangnam Style part 2 called 'Gentleman.' The bonkers vid has already had 50 MILLION views in two days, as it was only released at midnight on Friday night.

In the wacky video Psy plays the prankster, as he farts in a girls face, pulls away a girls chair and pushes coffee in another girls face. The camera also zooms in on the singer slurping a giant mouthful of noodles. Pleasant.

But what about the latest dance move? Well the 'Gentleman' is all about swaying from side to side with your hand resting on your chin and then doing an enthusiastic side step. But we'll have to wait and see if it'll catch on like Gangnam.

Psy's original horse riding dance move was copied across the world and was even done by the UN secretary-general, Ban Ki-moon. So did Psy feel the pressure to come up with another viral dance move? He said at a concert in Seoul on Friday where he launched his new single 'Of course I feel more burden than before, because lots of people are watching.'

To celebrate the 'Gentleman' going viral we have rounded up the top 10 viral videos of all time from the Macarena to the Wop. We've had Beyoncé putting her hands up in the air, Miley Cyrus twerkin' and Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn shakin.'

1. Gentleman

2. The Wop

Miley Cyrus managed to get the WOP trending on Twitter in March when she posted a video of her twerkin' in an animal onesie to J Dash and Flo Rida's song.

3. Harlem Shake

Talk about an on-trend dance routine, the Harlem Shake took London Fashion Week by storm and was perfectly demonstrated by Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn and Rosie Tapner backstage at Topshop Unique. The video of the supers shakin' has received one and a half million views and when it was posted it received 25,000 views per day. Phewf.

4. Macerena

The macerana was the ultimate school disco dance move. It was released in 1995 and still has a cult following. VH1 named it as the "#1 Greatest One-Hit Wonder of all Time' in 2002.

5. Stop

Any child of the 90s could do this simple Spice Girls dance from 1998 in their sleep.

6. Gangnam Style

This is the most watched video ever with 1.5 billion views on YouTube, and has even been copied by the UN secretary-general, Ban Ki-moon. Boris Johnson said at the Conservative Party Conference that he has done the dance move with PM David Cameron.

7. The ketchup song

The song by Spanish group Las Ketchup is one of the best selling singles of all time (yes really) and back in 2002 the jivey hand move was all the rave.

Who can forget the moves to this dance anthem by the Village People? The Y-M-C-A move is the ultimate viral dance move.

9. Single Ladies

The hand-twirl in Beyonce's anthem has been copied by everyone from Joe Jonas to Jedward. Barack Obama even did a quick Single Ladies hand flick at the Obama Inaugural Celebration. Fierce.

 10. Soulja Boy

The superman dance from 'Crank that' went viral back in 2007, and Beyonce even performed the dance move on her Beyonce Experience world tour.
