In news that will see the gods of bad taste whooping and high-fiving, Paris Hilton has announced plans to re-start her music career.
The Jessica Simpson-like pop of her 2006 debut Paris didn’t exactly set the music world on fire (and Banksy wasn’t a fan), but critics celebrated it’s sense of vacant, dumb-fun, with The Observer remarking that it was "like a silly holiday cocktail with umbrellas and sparklers, there is much to enjoy about Paris Hilton, albeit from one mad Med fortnight only." And obvs Stars Is Blind was a tuuuuune.
Now the woman no-one calls ‘Pazza’ has signed to Lil Wayne’s label Cash Money (home to Drake and Nickie Minaj). Wayne and Paris previously collaborated on a track Last Night which ‘dropped’ last November.
Bryan "Birdman" Williams, who co-founded the label, confirmed the news on twitter saying: “Welcome@ParisHilton to tha Family. RichgangRichgirl. YMCMB."
Meanwhile summoning her inner Geri Halliwell, Paris told MTV News: "I think a lot of people don't know that music is my passion since I was a little girl. I'm very musically talented. This is more my thing [musically on this album], more of a club scene, more dance."
The "more dance" album will be produced by her ex-boyfriend, DJ dude Afrojack.
Expressing even more of her excitement about the deal on Twitter, Paris wrote: "Love all you guys so much! So proud I have been Trending Worldwide all day & night because of you all. I have the best fans in the world! ❤"
We haven’t been this excited since we realised that Victoria Aitken was still rapping.
“Amazing” (subject to change).
