The winner of best actor in a leading role has just been announced and the Oscar goes to...Daniel Day-Lewis! Mais oui. The Brit actor has just made history taking his third Oscar for his leading role in Steven Spielberg's biopic Lincoln. Day-Lewis portrays Abraham Lincoln in the months prior to his assassination, as he works to persuade Congress to pass a Constitutional amendment that would outlaw slavery. 'It's funny, because three years ago, before we agreed to a straight swap, I'd already signed up to play Margaret Thatcher. And Meryl [Streep] had agreed to play Lincoln.
