New trailer klaxon: there’s just six weeks to go until the long awaited release of Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of The Great Gatsby and we can’t wait to watch the full shebang after being tantalised with teasers for so long. And today, we have the latest: a brand new, glitzy, super-exciting trailer!
There's more tears, tantrums and fast cars as well as storms, fireworks, more tears and, of course, Beyonce singing Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black as part of the incredible soundtrack. Florence + The Machine, Lana Del Rey, Kanye West and even our very own Emeli Sande has got a song on there (she's everywhere right now, no?).
Set for release on 16 May here in the UK, we’ve been teased and tantalised with smouldering stills of leading lady Carey Mulligan looking longingly and lustfully at leading man Leonardo DiCaprio. We’ve drooled over the gorgeous jewels and accessories designed exclusively by Tiffany & Co and we’re tres excited about the '20s-style flapper dresses and costumes, particularly as many of them have been designed by none other than Miuccia Prada.
Despite this being a fashion lovers dream, alas, we won't be the first ones to get a look at the film. The day before it's UK release, Baz and co will don their best, Riviera-worthy linen suits to open the Cannes Film Festival. But hey, who are we to complain? That's a pretty good introduction for a film the world has waited a really, reeeally long time for. And we'll be the first in the queue the following day when it arrives here.
Until then, watch the trailer below - again and again and again...
