Lupita Nyong’o and Adam Driver: yes please [Getty]
Star Wars fans, sit up and pay attention. The line-up for the new Star Wars Episode VII movie is shaping up to be very exciting indeed!
Woman of the moment Lupita Nyong’o is reportedly in the running for the female lead (rumour has it she could play a descendent of Obi-Wan Kenobi) while Girls’ Adam Driver has apparently very nearly signed on the dotted line to the play the baddie.
Add to the mix Downton’s Ed Speleers, Attack the Block's John Boyega and Jesse Plemons of Breaking Bad fame each in the running for the male lead, and you’ve got yourself a stellar cast. Oh, and did we mention there’ll be some familiar faces in the form of Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher? Eek!
J.J. Abrams is in the director’s chair and apparently shooting for the film – which is set 30 years after Star Wars: Episode IV Return of the Jedi - begins at London’s Pinewood studios from the middle of May.
The only downside? You’ll have to wait until Christmas 2015 to see them all in action. Sit tight folks, it won’t be long before we’re in a galaxy far, far away.
