The end of the second series of Girls left us with various plot threads seemingly nicely tied up. Hannah was back with Adam, Marine with Charlie and Shoshanna was enjoying the single life (thanks, pleasing montage scene). But following the news about the shock departure of Charlie (Christopher Abbott) we’ve been wondering if Season 3 won’t actually be the walk-in-the-(Central)-park we thought it might be.
Ray (Alex Karpovsky) has spilled some Season 3 secrets in this week’s issue of Grazia, and now the news hits us than none other than Jennifer Westfeldt (aka Jon Hamm’s real life squeeze. Yes we typed ‘squeeze’) is set to guest star.
You may have seen her on the red carpet arm in arm with JH or in her star studded film Friends With Kids (which she wrote and directed) but her appearance in Girls makes total sense if you’ve seen her first flick Kissing Jessica Stein. It's the sort of brilliantly quirky, clever
No news yet on who she will play, but she’s filmed a scene with Adam (Adam Diver) at a funeral. So maybe she's going to be the older sister/aunt/Person From The Past?
Not only has the hugely talented Ms Westfeldt joined the cast, but news reaches us that Michael Zegen (who you may have seen in Broadwalk Empire playing as Bugsy Siegel) has joined too. We’re not sure who he’ll play, but there’s been a bit of speculation that he’ll jump into Charlie’s shoes and play Marine’s rebound.
With his preppy style, we’re definitely getting 'make shift Charlie vibes' from him... Roll on next season!
